Content platform Radboud Universiteit

Laying the foundations for a brand new multi-channel content platform for the Radboud University Nijmegen. We architected the content model for this ambitious new approach to producing, managing and publishing marketing and service content for a diverse set of audiences.

We helped shape the existing top task research into prioritized user journeys from which an initial high level backlog could be established.

Working closely with subject matter experts we defined the core set of around thirty content/entity types necessary to support user tasks and goals. Formal data definitions had to be weighed against editorial flexibility. Integration with existing systems was balanced with workflow requirements.

Multiple sets of taxonomy terms were harmonised as much as possible to enable a flexible, metadata driven execution of the content strategy. Shout out to the incomparable infochef for taking charge of the collaboration on this part.

With the platform-level content types and taxonomy terms in place we then designed the building blocks for the new university website. We produced a high level information architecture, established navigation patterns and designed a set of templates for building meaningful task and information flows.
